Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO)
Elevation=4,412 Tower Controlled

Reno-Tahoe International airport is the perfect place to go when the weather goes sour, or if you want all the amenities of a big-time airport. ILS approaches are available to the north & south runways. When the winds are howling from the west over the Lake Tahoe mountains runway 25 is available for VFR or VOR circle-to-land approaches.

Ground transportation is not a problem with all the major rental car companies supporting this major airport. There is also the Tahoe Casino Express bus that runs hourly shuttles to South Lake Tahoe area.

Aviation enthusiasts converge on Reno every year during the Reno Air Races, which is held at the Reno-Stead airport (4SD). The RNO airport supports all general aviation aircraft during the air races because 4SD does not allow any transient aircraft during this period.
